Not Feeling So Well

Well, I'm officially sick. I have a head cold and my body aches... Arg. Anyway, life still continues on. :) Had a great day with our Ebay affiliate sales, biggest day ever in fact!

But I want to talk about Spam. I just read Dale's blog post and it reminded me of a message I sent to someone today. When I went to my MyLot inbox (social networking site that pays) I had a message from a random person with no posts. They had just requested my friendship so I knew the post would be one of two thins. 1. It would be asking for help. 2. Spam. And yup, it was spam.

So what did I do? I actually messaged the person back. My message simply said. "There are easier and better ways to get targetted traffic than spamming people. If you are interested, visit my profile". I figure I might as well fight fire with fire.

Of course, this is different than receiving spam in an email. This person had to type that information for me to receive it (no spam policy on the site. LMAO) so they are a real person and obviously do not know what they are doing.

I wonder if they visited my profile....

Spam, Spam, Spam Everywhere

Its actually quite hilarious the amount of spam emails I get into my email inbox on a daily basis. People just dont understand that this just doesnt work anymore, not to mention that its illegal and immoral.

Maybe a few years ago spamming did well for some people but to be honest I am totally sick of spammers. Jodie and I run a successful affiliate marketing business and we wouldnt ever think of spamming. Thats why we have a double opt in newsletter.

Even having the double opt in you have to be careful. You see we dont send a ton of emails to our list. I am actually a member of one newsletter that I get at least 3 emails a day from. Im not even sure why I havent opted out yet but the time is coming.

I guess what Im getting at people is stop spamming. All you are doing is wasting your time and you are also setting yourself up for trouble.

Back At It

What an exhausting few days... but good days. Dale and I have been working our butts off to get out our first campaign using OneWeekMarketing. And guess what, it's been a success. 48 hours after we published our first lens, we have had over 70 hits to the site. Did you hear that folks? 70 hits in 48 hours!

I'm thinking Dale and I should start a "hit meter" that tracks how many hits we've had for different campaigns.

I do think that Dale and I need a break from writing articles and hard labour for the next day or so... but knowing us, we'll both be at it again tomorrow morning.

It was payday as well as we received our Squidoo payment for our August earnings. :) Squidoo is the number one tool using OneWeekMarketing and it's where we always start our campaigns. It's free to join and they pay you to use their site to host your affiliate products or referral based programs. Cool!

So What Is It?

I got to thinking yesterday when I was bored out of my skull working on the latest campaign. So I ask the question what is it you want from your affiliate earnings. Do you want the warm fuzzy feeling of only working on campaigns that are near and dear to you? Or do you want to make money and see cheques at your door at least every two weeks.



Well I know I love seeing the cheques. I am in affiliate marketing plain and simple for two reasons. I want to continue making money and I want to show other serious people how they can make money.



Hell if at the end of the day we think something as simple as watching paint dry will make us money then watch out for our watch paint dry campaign.



It does help having a partner thats just as committed. We both understand what it takes and we both have the things we love doing on the campaigns. In saying that some can get very trying in a hurry. However at the end of the day we think about the big picture and guess what, it brings a smile to our face.

What A Sunday

Wow, do I ever have to give a shout out to what we got accomplished yesterday. Jodie and I launched a brand new campaign. We did more work yesterday then the last 3 days combined. We are in pretty good spirits that this will be one of our best campaigns yet.

As of bedtime last night we hadnt made a penny with it yet but the people looking and clicking thru was alarmingly high and really thats all we could ask for so early in the campaign. Even though its launched its not quite finished yet.

Jodie still has to build a blog around it and she needs ti do some ehow articles while I still need to publish around 12 articles yet. At that point we will be done. We will have some tweaking but honestly it will be on to the next campaign.

Im really not sure whats in store today. I really need to get some yard work done before the snow falls. So today I will try and split up the efforts. Get the yard work done, get about 6 articles done and get some more work done on my wifes website.

Anyways I guess thats it for now. I love blogging and I could write all day but it would probably get a bit boring for you.

Anyways dont you think its time you stopped procrastinating and got into affiliate marketing. The cool thing is while we are waiting for our new campaign to take off we are still making money off our other affiliate efforts.
